What We Do

The Centre for Citizen Experience uses design to change the way the public sector solves problems, delivers services and creates policy.
We are a startup "do tank" that provides consulting, coaching and resources, conducts research, creates proofs of concept, and advocates for design as an essential tool in public sector excellence.

About

The Centre for Citizen Experience is a startup “do tank” that advances design in the public sector, particularly in North America. The Centre’s fundamental belief is that design methods and mindset can dramatically improve problem solving for public sector organizations.

The Centre was founded in late 2009 by Jess McMullin, a successful entrepreneur who started one of Canada’s leading experience design firms in 2003. Headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the Centre is currently operated by Citizen Experience Inc.

Today the Centre realizes its mission through consulting, training, research, advocacy and policy work.

Due to current client commitments, the Centre has only limited availability for select projects during our early growth phase. We expect to ramp up our team and availability in the coming months, though we’re always interested in talking.

Please do get in touch if you are interested in working with us as part of the team or in seeing how how the Centre could help your own team or leadership—if we’re unable to help right now, we can probably recommend someone who can.
